Featured Honeymoon Location

I’m writing this post today about my honeymoon location in Bora Bora. My friends who just got married this past weekend in Chicago told us they were going to Bora Bora and Moorea in the French Polynesia because of our honeymoon pictures that we shared.

Bora Bora is the ultimate Honeymoon spot for couples who want to do the sun, sand, and relaxation mode for their first vacation as a married couple. We decided on this local because it was more exotic than Hawaii and still close enough by plane. The last thing that I wanted to do was sit on a plane for 24 hours trying to get to the Maldives, right after a weekend of crazy wedding stuff.

I really think that the pictures speak for themselves. Just to prove my point about how amazing it is, I’m going to use my own photos that I took with a point and shoot camera.

My husband and I stayed at the St Regis Bora Bora for 8 days. It was paradise found – I was completely amazed by the location, our overwater bungalow, the service, and just overall being happy to be on our honeymoon.

From LA, we took a non stop Air Tahiti Nui flight to Papeete, Tahiti and had to stay overnight in a hotel in Tahiti. I think now you can take a red eye from LA to avoid this extra night in Tahiti. There is nothing to see in Tahiti so I would skip it altogether. The next morning we took an early flight to Bora Bora – and the views from the plane were breathtaking.

When you arrive at your resort via boat transfer, you are greeted by your butler and lots of other people holding cold towels and drinks upon disembarking the boat. From there you just get pampered and go into your lazy mode of laying on the beach, reading an easy book, and eating a few meals here and there. Low pressure and enjoyable.

Of course if you want to do water sports – the hotel can arrange for all of it. Just ask them – this is the type of place where you get someone to do all of your bidding.

I really want to go back now, maybe my friends will let me sneak in their luggage. Nah I doubt that will work.
