Water Lilies at the Getty Villa

Whenever I get a free weekend day I like to take advantage of it! Today we had a chance to go see the Getty Villa. Its been a while since I was last there, but my sister and her family wanted to meet there and have lunch and walk around a bit.

It was so nice there today! It wasn’t super crowded. We had a pleasant and tasty lunch outdoors at the cafe. Afterwards we took my 4 year old niece around to see the kids area and the gardens. She loved the herb garden in particular because of the fruit and herbs we saw growing. She recognizes a lot of the names of herbs from all the help she gives her mom in the kitchen.

While I was walking around I saw these really nice water lilies in the herb garden area. There were some blooms on the lily pads while got me thinking…how pretty would water lilies be as centerpieces? It would be so exotic and serene in a bowl of water. How simple and different at the same time.

Here are the photos I snapped of the beautiful flowers.

I love the Getty Villa because you can spend a nice Sunday afternoon with family and just enjoy the peacefulness of the space. There are lots of benches and sitting areas for you to just sit and chat with a coffee or tea.

  1. I’m having challenges seeing your blog on my LG netbook screen. Do you have a skinier version of the site I could look at?
